Service Learning

Our philosophy at Children First Academy is that service to others is the best way to learn and grow.  Our students are the recipients of so much service and compassion.  We appreciate the community and we are so grateful for opportunities to give back through our own service projects.  In 2009 our students, facilitated by our Service Learning Club, were able to reach out in many ways including Bell Ringing at Walmart for the Salvation Army and visiting local nursing homes to bring music to residents.  The children also sang at the Health Care Luncheon for the AZ Association of Homecare, Friendship Village, and 12 K's annual event.

We had another penny drive this year and jumped rope for the the American Heart Association.  In years past we had a penny drive for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.  Our students with the small means they have were able to collect $86.00 in pennies which the Arizona Republic matched and multiplied and turned into over $900 to give to Katrina victims from our students.

The school reaches out to the community by allowing the Salvation Army to hold its annual toy drive in our facilities.  We are so grateful for a community willing to reach out to our kids and we want nothing more than to teach our kids to reach back.
